The fact that Chrysler has not done this yet kills me a little every day

While I think that shop looks awesome (I really like the Charger's styling) you're basically asking them to redesign the Challenger to look like the Charger. I think they need to remain distinctly different cars.

I love it!

I don't want them to redesign the Challenger, just lop off two doors from the Charger
The world can never have too many RWD V8 coupés

You really expect Dodge to build two large coupes with the same engines, similar interiors, based on the same platform and sell them for the same amount of money? The world can never have too many rwd V8 coupes, I agree, but only GM would do something that stupid.

That would have to be a vast retractable roof.

I would be ok with this option too but I prefer the 4 door

That Road Runner rendering kicks ass

While it sounds like a decent idea, I'd be scared shitless to ride in one. The structural rigidity in a 2-Door convertible is already somewhat compromised. In a four door, you're pretty much dead.

what unholy creature is at the top of you comment?!

I mean I guess it would just not be a daily driver. Risk of accidents would decrease

that one is actually the only real one. A 1st generation CLS conv. (With obligatory horrendous body kit) made by ASMA design.

I bet they could sell both. They would appeal to different audiences, especially if they could get this charger version to lose some weight.

They would appeal to the same audience, and they would weight the same. The only way to make the platform lose a lot of weight would be to go to aluminum (or CF), and that's not going to happen soon. It's the whole Chevy Silverado vs GMC Sierra thing- same thing. Except those are sold under different brands. In the '70s, the Charger was a bigger car than the Challenger, had bigger engines, cost more ect... but they are on the same platform now. So there's no reason for them both to exist at the same time.

I disagree about the same audience. I would never even remotely consider one of the current challengers, but this I could genuinely see myself driving as a daily. The challenger is all retro and trying to be cool. This is just a cleaner version of an already good looking modern sedan. You could drive this car without looking like a tool.
I just remembered that FIAT completely ruined the face of the charger, so, this wouldn't work anymore anyway.

The modern Charger is a retro sedan whether you like it or not. The headlights, taillights, the scallops on the side are all designed to look like the '69 Charger. Not to mention the various packages, such as the Super Bee, that are straight from the Dodge history book. Sure, until now it had the modern Dodge grill (The concept Challenger had it too) but they got rid of it to make it look more like the old Charger. It doesn't look like as accurate as the Challenger, but it's a sedan and back when it first came out, the designers didn't know it was going to be called Charger. But it is thoroughly retro and it is absolutely all about trying to be cool, just like the Challenger.

The modern charger is absolutely inspired by the older cars, it is taken in a completely different direction then then what the challenger is. The challenger is just another retro designed muscle car. The rest is all just opinion and there is no point in arguing it. I'm just saying that this appeals to me and the challenger does not and I'm sure that I'm not alone. I'm not even a mopar guy...
